JSC "Russian Railways" (RZD) launches daily trains between Adler and Gagra (Abkhazia) on Saturday, the press service of the North Caucasian railway reports.
"Between the two resorts three pairs of suburban trains will run. Total capacity of train is 232 seats. Trains will depart in the morning, afternoon, evening and night hours," - said in a statement.
The length of the new route will be 40 km. The journey, taking into account the control measures of border and customs services, is less than two hours in each direction.
Currently the railway communication between Russia and Abkhazia is conducted only by long-distance passenger trains: Moscow - Sukhumi, St. Petersburg - Sukhumi and Voronezh - Sukhumi.
