The cable road, which is the only one such structure in the region, started operating again in the resort town of Svetlogorsk in Kaliningrad Oblast.

      The funicular has not been functioning for a few years as there were issues with passengers’ safety. The total cost of the funicular maintenance was about 13 million rubles. This price includes a range of activities like small cosmetic repairs together with the usage of sandblasting. Now tourists coming to Svetlogorsk may descend from the city's central train station down to the beach. The total length of the cable road is 175 meters. It has two dozen booths, each of which has a capacity of 160 kilograms. The fare for the renewed transportation is 25 rubles.
