Astronaut Gennady Padalka Beats World Record in Space Time

 Today, on June 29 the Russian astronaut Gennady Padalka, who is onboard of the ISS, has beaten the world record in long-duration habitability of space.


The previous record of 803 days was set by his colleague Sergey Krikalev ten years ago.


Gennady Padalka is now on the fifth space flight in his career. It was started on March 27. His return to the Earth is prescheduled for September 11. Thus, the total time spent by him in space will reach about 880 days.


Mr. Krikalev, who is nowadays holding the post of the Deputy CEO of TsNIIMASh, the leading research scientific institute of Roskosmos reports that he is happy to congratulate his colleague on the record.
