The 6^th International Young European Film Festival VOICES has been opened in Vologda.

      The festival’s guests of honor, film stars, judges and organizers walked on the red carpet of the Lenkom Movie Theatre. The ceremony was followed with episodes from Sergey Bondarchuk's world famous War and Peace, and The Ode to Joy performed by the Chamber Orchestra of the Vologda Region Philharmonic Hall and the Vologda Choir. And it was not by mere chance: one of the central themes of the festival is Cinema for Peace. Friedrich Schiller’s poem The Ode to Joy set to Beethoven’s music calls for peace, friendship and joy.

      Thierry Fremo, the director of the Cannes Film Festival sent a video greeting to the VOICES.

      The film festival was opened with the movie Young Blood directed by Emmanuelle Bercot and starring Catherine Deneuve.
