Composer of Juno and Avos Turned 70

The famous composer Alexey Rybnikov, the author of rock operas Juno and Avos, The Star and Death of Joaquin Murieta, as well as music to numerous popular films celebrates his 70th jubilee today.

      Festivals with his popular and less known works have been planned for this autumn. the events will be held in Yaroslavl, Tallinn and Riga. The composer's creative evening will  take place in the Lenkom Theatre, where fragments of plays by the Rybnikov Theatre will be performed.

      it is a reminder that last year the Rybnikov Theatre premiered the choreographic drama Eyes of the Clown. Besides, there was a concert in Budapest, as well as performances in the Crocus City Hall and the Vakhtangov Theatre in Moscow.

      Alexey Rybnikov has  created music to more than a hundred movies. Presently the composer focuses on his work as the stage director and producer of a cycle of musicals in the Mosfilm Studio. He is going to reinvent music pieces of world classics.
