Sensational French writer Michelle Houellebecq has arrived in Moscow. One of the most popular writers of today wants to write a novel about Russia.
In addition to seeing his future readers, Houellebecq wants to observe Stalinist architecture and shopping centers of Moscow. However it is not shopping he is interested in. The writer is going to study social stratification in Russia on the example of Moscow shops.
The writer is also going to present his new book “La Possibilite d`une ile” to the Russian public and attempt to film a short documentary about his trip.
Houellebecq is known as the author whose major concerns relate to sexual freedom and the threat of terrorism. His first novel “Les particules elementaires” brought him accusations of immorality and insulting Islam.
The writer says he has only one week to get to know Russia. He will stay in Moscow till Friday and then he will go to St. Petersburg.
