The President of Russia Vladimir Putin discussed the issues of strengthening the multilateral and bilateral coordination for countering the threats posed by the “Islamic State” (IS) with his Turkish counterpart Tayyip Erdogan. The information about the telephone talk between the two leaders was posted on Sunday, July 26 on the Kremlin website. The two leaders noted that “a successful fight against the spread of terrorism and extremism needed the consolidation of the efforts of all interested states on the basis of international law». During the talk held at the initiative of the Turkish party Erdogan and Putin also exchanged their opinions of the situation in the Middle East, particularly in Syria and Iraq.
