The Bank of Russia is launching a project for the creation of a national rating agency. The work on this project will be headed by the Vice-President of Gazprombank Ekaterina Trofimova.
The appropriate information is contained in the message of the regulator. The decision was made following the results of a closed meeting with “a wide range of financial market participants”. The Central Bank notes that the Russian market needs a strong credit rating agency. It must have a high level of corporate governance, meet the interests of the economy and have authority with both domestic and foreign investors.
The capital of the agency will make up 3 billion roubles. It will be distributed between investors (banks, insurance and asset management companies, as well as other enterprises) in equal shares up to 5 percent each. It is planned that the organization will start to work in the fourth quarter of 2015.
