New ecological mini-trail appeared at the cordon of the Altai Reserve. The trail is dedicated to the life, household, cultural and historical features of the traditional natural resources use of the Altai people.

The main task of the eco-trail is to tell the visitors of the reserve about the environmental friendliness of the indigenous peoples of Altai, of their rational approach to natural resources.

One of the most interesting buildings on the trail is the Altai ‘chadyr’. This is a kind of national housing of indigenous peoples of Altai. Information boards tell visitors about renewable energy sources and about one of the most iconic objects of everyday life of the Altai people – horse standing.

The Altai biosphere reserve is included into the list of the natural heritage of UNESCO. All cordons and ecological trails located around Teletskoe Lake are available to tourists. Six trails with the total length of 42.2 kilometers lead to the reserve. Tourists will have to spend the whole day on exploring one path, but the visitors are often time-bounded. The first mini-ecotrail at the Baygazan cordon appeared in the reserve in June. The environmentalists point it out that all educational trails of the reserve area are made within the frame of a single concept: of natural materials available at each specific site (rocks, fins, etc.) that can be used for construction without doing harm to nature.
