The Moscow traffic police have put together a list of the most dangerous and dilapidated road junctions in Russia’s capital. The 14-page report blames the careless drivers and lists those roads which urgently require upgrading.
Some of the junctions cannot cope with the traffic leading to frequent accidents. Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper says pedestrians have to be particularly attentive while crossing these roads.
The rating is topped by the junction of Svoboda Street and the Moscow Circle Road, with 139 accidents in January-March, 2006. Second comes the area of where Volokolamskoye Highway meets the Moscow Circle Road, with 131 accidents. 95 accidents take place where Svoboda Street mouths into Volokolamskoye Highway.
