The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment of the RF has started a planned evacuation of the seasonal drifting station “North Pole-2015”.

      This was reported by the Ministry of Natural Resources. During the past four months polar scientists have conducted a series of unique scientific investigations, as well as works on environmental monitoring in high-latitude regions of the Arctic. The events of the planned evacuation of the station “North Pole-2015” will take about two weeks and will be conducted with the help of a diesel-electric icebreaker “Kapitan Dranitsyn”. 17 people of the personnel of the drifting station, as well as research equipment will be transported from the ice on board the icebreaker during the evacuation. The arrival of the icebreaker “Kapitan Dranitsyn” with members of the scientific expedition in Murmansk is scheduled for mid-August 2015.
