Non-Conformist Sculpture Exhibition Crashed by Orthodox Activists in Manege

Activists of the Orthodox Cristian movement God's Will headed by Dmitry Tsorionov (aka Enteo) crushed a sculpture exhibition recently opened in the Manege Exhibition Centre, Moscow.

The exposition presents works by Soviet non-conformist artists of the 1960s-70s. The blogger Enteo known for his epatage actions claimed that the sculptures violate religious feelings and exhorted his followers to tear it apart.

"Yes, a group of inadequate people have broken a few sculptures by Vadim Sidur from the museum collection of Manege", the head of Manege PR and advertizing department Elena Karneeva confirmed to the Business FM radio station.

Besides, the vandalists damaged four reliefs on the subject of Christ's crucifixion and one sculpture depicting John the Baptist. Some eyewitnesses inform that dozens of valuable exhibits have been spoiled.

The exhibition had to be closed temporarily because of the acts of vandalism. All participants of the religious riot have been detained by the police.

Earlier it was reported that several dozens of Orthodox believers led by priests interrupted a concert for the 20th anniversary of the Silver Rain radio station.
