It is for the 23rd time already that Yaroslavl hosts the Transfiguration Music Festival.
Over all these years the festival has become a peculiar musical landmark of the Yaroslavl Region.
The main venue of the festival is traditionally the Yaroslavl Historical and Cultural Memorial Estate. This year 12 bell ringers from Arkhangelsk, Veliky Novgorod, Vologda, Kaluga, St. Petersburg, Moscow, Yaroslavl will chime at the festival. The youngest of them is just 19 years old. For the first time Kampanelli hand bells ensemble from Estonia will take part in the festival.
Festival programs will take place in the Sobinov Concert Hall as well. The mystery play Prince Vladimir composed by Andrey Mikita will be performed there tonight, August 19. On the following days Russian and foreign masters of sacred music will play in the concert hall.
