The 10th Literary Meetings will take place in Yasnaya Polyana, the memorial estate of Leo Tolstoy from September 8 to September 10, 2015.
Literary meetings, exhibitions and concerts in the Tula Region are dedicated to celebrations of the 187th anniversary since the birth of the great Russian writer Leo Tolstoy. The event brings together writers, philosophers, journalists and poets for informal and real-life communication.
In 2015 the participants of Literary Meetings in Yasnaya Polyana will discuss several topics. Some of the speeches will be associated with the novel Anna Karenina the first edition of which came off the press 140 years ago. Another subject — Tolstoy and Politics — came up in the light of complicated political and social situation recently. On September 10, the film director Galina Yevtushenko will present her movie Tolstoy and Gandhi. The premiere will be discussed at the round table Tolstoy and Gandhi. Russian Turn to the East: Tradition or Innovation?
The meetings are open for all comers. Writers from Tula, Moscow, the Eagle, St. Petersburg, Pskov, Krasnodar Territory, Yekaterinburg, Orenburg, Kazan, Sevastopol, Tallinn and Bologna have gathered in Yasnaya Polyana to take part in the Literary Meetings.
