October 30 will see the Russian premiere of the musical Joseph and the Amazing Dreamcoat on stage of Gorky Culture Centre in St. Petersburg. 

      The famous musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber will be performed by St. Petersburg State Musical Theater ‘Karambol’.

      Premiere performances will be given on October 31 and November 1 as well.

      The Russian premiere of the musical is timed to the 25^th anniversary of the Karambol theater. The production director Alexey Frandetti personally translated the libretto and was praised by the lyrics’ author Tim Rice. The stage costumes were created by Victoria Sevryukova, a winner of The Gold Mask.

      About 70 people took part in the casting for Joseph and his Wonderful Dream Raincoat. As a result actors from the troupe of Karambol Theater, as well as a few famous Moscow and Petersburg musical actors were selected.
