September 18 marked the historical date – 1000 days till the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia.
The celebrations took place in the Red Square in Moscow. The First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Igor Shuvalov, made a speech at the ceremony of opening the symbolical countdown clock.
"11 cities of Russia are going to host World Cup 2018 and a solid piece of work is ahead, - Igor Shuvalov told. - The work is humming in these cities, including Moscow. All infrastructure will be put into effect in time. Recently Vitaly Mutko has become the president of the Russian Football Union, and that is a crucial point. Hopefully, we will be able to make it heyday for every football fan. We will do level best for people in those Russian cities, which are not hosts of World Cup 2018, to feel themselves part and parcel of the heyday".
