Nizhny Tagil will be hosting the 26th documentary film festival Russia from October 1 to October 5.
The national forum of the Russian documentary film makers will also cover Novouralsk and Yekaterinburg. This year the focus is on short-length films, which are 39 in the program.
The jury brings together the film directors Klim Lavrentyev and Irakli Kvirikadze, the people's artist of RSFSR Alexey Petrenko and other film celebrities. They are going to select six best works out of 39 films and award the winner with the Ural Oscar, the statuette playing the balalaika! Besides, the winner will be granted 100 thousand rubles for making the next film.
It is the fourth time that Nizhni Tagil will host the festival. Due to this fact it has the right to award a special prize. Viewers in Nizhny Tagil will select the best movie about a creative person.
The opening ceremony will take place at the Krasnogvardeets movie theater on October 1.
