The 175th anniversary since the birth of Pyotr Tchaikovsky is celebrated with a festival from October 5 to October 7, 2015.
The festival is held in the Big Hall of the Glinka Conservatory, Nizhny Novgorod.
The festival aims at presenting the creative heritage of the great Russian composer across the spectrum.
The audience of the three festival concerts will listen to symphonic and choral music, fragments of operas, instrumental adaptations of ballet music, original consort and vocal compositions. The festival program will cover both famous (piano plays of the Seasons series, arias and duets from the opera Eugene Onegin) and little known works by Pyotr Tchaikovsky.
The festival will be opened with the majestic cantata Moscow for baritone, mezzo-soprano, orchestra and mixed choir.
