Yury Grigorovich and Anthony Hopkins won the international Stanislavsky Award.
Russian choreographer Yury Grigorovich was awarded For Contribution into Theater Development and American actor Anthony Hopkins took the award in the nomination For Contribution into Development of World Performing Arts.
The international Stanislavsky Award was founded in 1994 and since then has been annually awarded for outstanding contribution into development of the theater.
Every winner is handed a medal with the image of Chekhovian seagull, Stanislavsky's facsimile and a monetary reward of about $3000.
Over its existence the award has already been given to over 170 figures of Russian and foreign theater, Pyotr Fomenko, Mark Zakharov, Valentin Pluchek, Kirill Lavrov, Bohdan Stupka, Oleg Tabakov and Oleg Basilashvili among them.
