Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia: SOL' Designers

On October 22 in the framework of ‪Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia‬ SOL' Designers presentation will be held. Loyalty to classics, devotion to innovations, in love with fashion, passion for creativity - this is the main credo of the new collection by Olga Selivanova and Anna Kovalenko.

SOL’ DESIGNERS is the young brand that was set up by two friends: Olga Selivanova and Anna Kovalenko. Olga is professional fashion photographer while Anna is florist and interior designer. Girls had been friends for over 10 years before finally their collective work with headdresses at photo shooting urged them to create their own brand. Olga and Anna opened a workshop in Moscow and are now designing exclusive headdresses for girls.

Name of the brand is no mere chance. Designers believe that headdress is like salt in cooking (in Russian salt sounds like sol’) only one pinch can change the dish and emphasize key flavours. The same with SOL’ DESIGNERS hair kerchiefs, once you add them to your look, it becomes juicier and ‘tastier’. In winter Olga and Anna produced a collection of cashmere and wool hoods and hair kerchiefs and for summer they designed a line of headdresses of organza, lace and silk for girls admiring fashion and their little daughters.

In autumn Moscow will traditionally host the fashion marathon - Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia Season Spring-Summer 2016 will take place from 21 to 25 October. Over 70 designers from Russia, Georgia, Ukraine, Turkey, China and other countries will demonstrate their collections at the major venue of Manezh.

Alena Akhmadullina, VIVA VOX, Tony Ward Couture, Yasya Minochkina (the Ukraine), Julia Nikolaeva, Laroom, PIROSMANI BY JENYA MALYGINA, IGOR GULYAEV, MASTERPEACE by Evgenia Linovich, Julia Dalakian, Yez by Yegor Zaitsev, Goga Nikabadze (Georgia), DIMANEU – these and many other successful designers who will be presenting their collections at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia, have been already acknowledged by fashion community both in Russian and abroad.

One of the key elements of the foreign program will be the premier night of evening gowns by the brand Tarik Ediz (Turkey).

Among the talented new-comers supported by Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia are: TAKO MEKVABIDZE (Georgia),  IVANONA, Eka Balanchivadze (Georgia), ARAIDA and many others. Young designers Vika Smolyanitskaya, Outlaw Moscow and Ksenia Knyazeva who demonstrated their collections in the presentation-format last season, this year will make the début on the runway. Premier collections performed by the designers who are only starting their career will be presented during group shows, competitions and presentations of capsule collections in show rooms.
