Stolen Monument to Yevgeny Leonov Sawn into Scrap Metal Pieces

The sculpture of the famous Russian actor Yevgeny Leonov was stolen from Mosfilmovskaya Street, Moscow, on the night of October 16.

      The police found the stolen monument. Malefactors managed to saw the sculpture into pieces. According to preliminary information, it is beyond repair. Most likely, the thieves intended to junk the bronze monument in parts.

      It was reported earlier that police officers caught five suspects of the theft. They were found upon interrogation of the local dwellers, and checking the records of surveillance cameras.
