Today Russia is celebrating the Day of People's Unity.
It was founded in 2005 to commemorate historical events of 1612, when the people's volunteer corps headed by Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky liberated Moscow from the Polish interventionists. Historically this holiday is associated with the end of the Time of Troubles in Russia of the 17th century.
