Mariinsky Theater to Commemorate Victims of A321 Crash

The Mass in B Minor of J.S. Bach will be performed in the Mariinsky Theatre in memory of the victims of airbus A321 crash in Egypt.

      Helmut Rilling's Bach Ensemble and the academic chorus Masters of Choral Singing will play the Mass on November 11.

      The Mass in B Minor of J.S. Bach is set to a liturgy text. It took Johann Sebastian Bach over 10 years to compose the masterpiece. Helmut Rilling, the conductor and the art director of Bach Ensemble is renowned as an unsurpassed interpreter of music by J.S. Bach.

      Airbus-321 of the Kogalymavia Airline crashed in Sinai on its way from Sharm el-Sheikh to St. Petersburg. All the 217 passengers and seven crew members onboard died. It is the biggest flight accident  in the history of the Russian and Soviet civil aviation ever.
