49th Japanese Film Festival Held in Moscow

The 49th Japanese Film Festival is taking place in the Cinema Formula "Horizon" from November 18 to 24, 2015.

      The event was organized by the  Embassy of Japan to Russia, the Japanese Foundation and the Art association CoolConnections with assistance of the TV channel NHK World.

      The festival will open with Umimachi Diary directed by Hirokazu Koreeda. It is a story about four sisters trying to find harmony in a house on the seashore.

      The festival program includes seven new films about family, travel and friendship.

      The festival organizers have founded the special nomination People's Choice Award. Any festival viewer will have a chance to vote for one's favourite film. At the end of the event the special prize figurine will be sent to the film makers in Japan.
