The Russian track-and-field athletes will sue the couple of Yulia and Vitaly Stepanov for the independent commission of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) recommended to disqualify the athletes for life for doping use.
This was reported to “R-Sport” by the runner Kristina Ugarova. “At first the case will be heard in a regional court, and then we will increase the scale. Stepanova is officially a citizen of the Russian Federation. The lawsuit will be filed on protection of honor and dignity, defamation. Then there will be a lawsuit against the German ARD TV channel” – Ugarova stated. On Monday November 16 it was reported that Stepanova with her husband asked for political asylum in Canada.
