The fantasy melodrama He is a Dragon created by Timur Bekmambetov's film company Bazelevs is released.

      The film is based on the novel The Ritual by Marina and Sergey Dyachenko. The action is set in a fantasy realm that reminds of Old Russia as regards its stylistics. The dragon kidnaps Princess Miroslava right from her wedding, and takes her to his castle on a mystic island. Prince Igor who is in love with Miroslava is ready to fight the dragon.

      Timur Bekmambetov is the co-producer of the fantasy film directed by Indar Djendubayev.

      The film shooting was started in Bulgaria and cam to an end in Yakutia, where the artist Simon Beck from Britain drew a huge dragon image on a snow field. It took two years for computer graphic artists headed by Sergey Nevshupov to create this character.
