Augmented Reality Helmet for Rescuers Developed in Siberia

Novosibirsk Research and Production Company has engineered a helmet equipped with augmented reality glasses.

Alexey Oryol, the Development Director of the RPC Granch reported about it to TASS.

"The helmet includes the  standard rescuer equipment that has been upgraded by us. It is equipped with a video camera, a thermovision camera that enables a rescuer to see through smoke. It has augmented reality glasses that make it possible for a rescuer to receive information through them as well as see one's location", - Alexey Oryol said.

Besides, according to him, the helmets are equipped with a communication system, which keeps rescuer in constant contact with the headquarters and colleagues, even when he is in a smoke-filled building, mine or wherever one may be while searching for people and liquidating emergency consequences.

The cost of one set, according to the company representative, makes about 1-1,2 million rubles depending on equipment. It has no equals anywhere yet.
