Progress M-28M Sunk at Spacecraft Cemetery

Remains of the time-expired spacecraft were sunk in a particular place in the Pacific Ocean soon after the vehicle undocked from the ISS.

The Russian spacecraft Progress M-28M successfully undocked from the International Space Station yesterday morning, and three hours later was sent to the Earth orbit. Destruction of the time-expired Progress M-28M happened in the course of its moving through atmospheric layers.

Several remaining large parts were sent to the so-called spacecraft cemetery arranged by experts in the Pacific Ocean. It is a reminder that this place is legally prohibited for sea vessels to enter. This is done to maintain the safety of ship crews and ships.
