Film Viy 2 is Most Expensive in History of Russian Cinema

Viy 2: Travel to China directed by Oleg Stepchenko has become the most expensive film in the history of domestic cinema.

Its budget for now, when the film is still in production makes 2.8 billion rubles already.

According to mass media, the film has got such a status because of the sky rocketed dollar exchange rate. The costs of production that involves both Russian and Chinese film studios are going to grow even more.

The huge budget of the film is also accounted by sophisticated computer graphics and presence of famous Hollywood actors (Jackie Chan and Rutger Hauer). The film makers are sure that they will be able to compensate the production costs with distribution box office, since the film will go on a wide release in China.
