The poverty rate in Russia in 2016 will come back to the level of 2005, and in the future, half of the country's population may turn into the category of the poor.
The official poverty rate in Russia, according to analysts, in 2015 and 2016 will grow by 2 percent, reaching 16 percent, the highest rate in the last 11 years. Companies and households lack the resources to maintain consumer growth model that has dominated in recent years.
From 30 to 50 percent of Russia's population may be in the category of the poor in the future - especially children, pensioners and their families.
