January 7 will see the opening of a traditional festival of folk arts and crafts in Pskov.
The Crampon Maker Day held on the embankment of River Velikaya will become a big holiday for children and parents alike, and a fair of unique talents, crafts, treats and active amusements.
The festival program will include performances of the best blacksmiths and unveiling of an iron monument. The festival participants will see forge and mechanical wonders, walk around the camp of heroes, join a dance school and pass Smithy Tests.
The festival has been held in the Pskov Region since 2011 in the framework of actions for development of event tourism. Over this period the festival has become the prize-winner of the all-Russian event tourism competition Russian Open Event Expo and the Russian Event Awards. This year it is organized by the Culture State Committee of the Pskov Region and the Theatre and Concert Management of the Pskov Region.
