Quantum System for Transfer of Secret Keys Designed in MSU

The new quantum system secures information and spots attempts of intrusion and interception.

Specialists of the Quantum Optical Technologies Laboratory of the Moscow State University have developed a quantum communication system for transfer of confidential keys. According to the laboratory head Sergey Kulik, the Russian scientists have thus managed to create an automated protected system that is capable to report about attempts of outsider intrusion and interception.

Such quantum systems can be applied in the civil sphere, for example, while carrying out banking transactions. For this purpose scientists are working on developing network versions of such systems.
