The National Library of Russia will celebrate its 202nd anniversary with a book exhibition of gifted editions.
The exposition will be opened in the new building of the Russian National Library in the Moskovsky Avenue from January 14.
"January 14 marks 202 years since the opening of the Imperial Public Library in Saint Petersburg. The opening ceremony took place on this day back in 1814. RNL traditionally celebrates this event every year. The exhibition Presented to the National Library of Russia will display the most valuable editions gifted to the RNL in 2015. The library got 10 967 editions altogether last year came. These are gifts by world famous museums, foreign libraries, consulates, various establishments, as well as certain authors and publishers", - the culture committee reported.
The exhibition will go hand in hand with the conference Innovative Projects of the National Library of Russia. It will present internet projects about local history and literature resources of Russia.
