Tretyakov Gallery Introduces Sessions to Aivazovsky Exhibition

Exhibition of the renowned Russian marine painter Ivan Aivazovsky will be held in Moscow from July 28 to November 20, and then will move to St. Petersburg till February.

The Tretyakov Gallery and the Russian Museum will introduce sessions of visiting the exhibition. It will be timed to the 200th anniversary since the artist's birthday celebrated in 2017.

According to the gallery director, taking into account the incident of breaking through the door to the exhibition of Serov in the Tretyakov Gallery at Krymsky Val, the curators took the decision to introduce sessions of Aivazovsky's exhibition.

"The quee to Serov" caused not only jokes on the Internet, but serious thoughts as well: how to avoid extreme agiotage at such popular exhibitions.

The curators specified that exhibition tickets will be sold on the website of the Tretyakov Gallery for particular sessions and those visitors who came, for example, at 10 am will be obliged to leave the building by noon. Visitors of the exhibition will see 100 paintings and graphic art works by Ivan Aivazovsky.
