Paintings by Frida Kahlo to Arrive in Saint Petersburg

On February 3 Fabergé Museum in St. Petersburg will open Russia's first large-scale exhibition of the famous Mexican artist Frida Kahlo.

Despite her world-wide acclaim Russia until now has not had a retrospective of Frida Kahlo since the artist's works were nearly inaccessible to exhibiting outside Mexico.

The exposition will present 34 works, including paintings, drawings, and lithographs of all the periods of her creative life and give a full picture of her stylistic evolution.

More than 100 photos and Mexican national costumes similar to those that the artist was fond of wearing will become an addition to the exhibition.
