The ROSCOSMOS state corporation in 2018 will start developing spacecraft engines that run on water electrolysis product.

      It is stated in the draft of The Federal Space Program for 2016-2025.

      The propulsion systems will run on oxygen-hydrogen fuel, which will be made onboard the spacecraft by means of electrolysis of water  from available stocks. A mighty power station is required for electrolysis. The Keldysh Research Center under the authority of ROSCOSMOS will be engaged in the corresponding development.
