ROSCOSMOS Research for Safety of Flights to the Moon

The ROSCOSMOS state corporation will spend 2,3 billion rubles on the research project Pastoral, which aims to secure astronauts' safe stay and functioning in the circumlunar orbit and on the Moon surface.

      It is described in the draft of the Federal Space Program for 2016-2025 prepared by Roscosmos.

      The old project in the FSP with the budget of 2 trillion rubles ascribed 2,19 billion rubles for these purposes. This year it is planned to spend 169,4 million rubles on this project. According to the document, in 2016-2025 Roscosmos intends to develop offers, recommendations, "requirements for perspective technologies, elements and systems of the missile and space equipment providing reliable implementation of piloted missions, including flights to the Moon, astronauts' work in the lunar orbit and on the surface of the Moon taking into account the solution of the existing medical and biological problems".
