432 cameras will be installed in the capital zoo this year, according to the official portal of the Mayor and the Moscow Government. There are 60 industrial television cameras in the zoo now.
Video surveillance helps zoologists to monitor the state of animals both during day and night, to analyze their behavior and ensure that people from outside do not penetrate into the rooms with wild animals. Videos from some cameras will be broadcasted on the website of the zoo. “60 surveillance cameras are installed in the zoo now. They are necessary in order to monitor the state of animals in places that are inaccessible to direct observation, or in places where it is desirable not to disturb the inhabitants” - the Director of the Moscow Zoo Natalia Kolobova told. It has not been decided yet what kind of animals will be subject to observation of the residents of Moscow.
