The Russians Yury Malenchenko and Sergey Volkov have started a planned extravehicular activity.
It is aimed at carrying out the experiment Restoration related to fixing of screen and vacuum thermal isolation on the repaired surface of the International Space Station, the RIA Novosti reports with reference to the FlightsControl Center.
The astronauts were preplanned to use the modernized space suits Orlan-ISS with an automatic thermal regulation system. However these space suits failed to be delivered to the ISS therefore Yury Malenchenko and Sergey Volkov are performing the task in the space suits Orlan-IS.
It is already the sixth extravehicular activity for Yury Malenchenko and the fourth one for Sergey Volkov. The Russians are expected to complete the works at around 9:42 pm Moscow time.
