The Head Of Sberbank German Gref May Be Offered To Return To Public Service

The Head of Sberbank German Gref may be offered to return to public service. This was reported to Financial Times by an informed source.

“Given the continuing decline in the Russian economy and the experience of the Head of Sberbank as a modernizer and crisis manager, the Kremlin could offer him a high position in the economic bloc once again” - the newspaper said. Gref himself took the suggestion skeptically. According to him, reforms require money. “When we were literally rolling in oil, there were more opportunities for reforms. But there was less need for them” - Rambler News Service quoted Gref’s words. Financial Times notes that the Russian President continued to consult Gref concerning the economy, even after he left the government.
