From March 1 to March 31 the 6th International Johann Bach Festival will be held in the Sverdlovsk Philharmonic Hall, Yekaterinburg.
The festival is timed to March 21, the birthday of Johann Sebastian Bach. It will focus on the theme of Johann Sebastian Bach and French Music.
The festival programs will present the works by the German composer against the panorama of the French music – from his contemporary Francois Couperin to the 20th century master Olivier Messiaen.
"Our festival aspires to present as many as possible of Bach's compositions, which have not been performed on this stage before, and introduce listeners to the works by composers who were teachers and students of Johann Bach", – the festival art director Taras Baginets commented.
The festival will also include creative meetings, master classes, film screenings and an autograph session.
