Russian Gold Reserve Has Risen By $3.2 Billion

The Russian gold reserve has risen by $3.2 billion in January. The gold reserve today is $368.3 billion. The corresponding information has been published by the Central Bank. $273.5 billion of which is kept in securities, $29.2 billion – in currency, $2.5 billion is the reserve position of IMF and $7.9 billion is the special rights to loan in IMF.

      An extra $51.4 billion is stored as gold and around $30 billion are assets. In the middle of last year the vice-chairman of the Bank of Russia Dmitri Tulin said that the regulator plans to increase the amount of gold reserves in Russia up to $500 billion in the next 3-5 years. He said that the achievement of these goals is possible within certain economic scenarios.
