20th Festival Barnaul Spring-2016 Kicks off in Altai

The 20th folk art festival Barnaul Spring-2016 started on March 2.

      The festival will be taking place in the Barnaul, the capital city of the Altai Territory, from March 2 to May 26, the regional administration informs.

      In 2016 the cultural life of the Russians runs under the sign of the Year of Russian Cinema and so does the folk art festival in Barnaul.

      The festival was opened in the Barnaul Philharmonic Hall with performances of the academic choirs of Barnaul and Novosibirsk. Dwellers and guests of the Altai Territory will participate in more than 40 events in the framework of the festival. These will include competitions and concerts, as well as meet-the-artist sessions.

      On May 26 the festival will be crowned with the program Glorious Son of Altai in honor of the famous actor Valery Zolotukhin born in Altai. The Russian Chamber Orchestra and the Choir of the Barnaul Culture Institute will perform.
