M. A. Vrubel Omsk Regional Museum of Fine Arts has opened a donation exhibition of 100 artists from Siberia.
The large-scale project has taken place at the initiative of the charity foundation Modern Art of Siberia.
The collection of works by leading artists of Siberian was generated in the course of preparation for the edition of the professional reference catalog of modern Siberian art. With the consent of artists the collection has been donated to Omsk in honor of its 300th anniversary.
According to experts' estimates, the collection is of high museum level. It embraces both traditional painting and graphic art, as well as arts and crafts, sculpture, and actual art. Altogether it represents a cross-section of Siberian fine arts over the last ten years.
