"It should be pointed out that the Russian modules will be detached from the International Space Station only in case of termination of the ISS project", - the leading scientific research institute of Roscosmos emphasizes.

As repeatedly informed , three ISS modules - the multipurpose laboratory module, the nodal module and the scientific and power module, which are going to be launched in 2017, 2018 and 2019 respectively, may give the basis for the new Russian space station.

The president of the rocket and space complex Energy, Vladimir Solntsev earlier reported to TASS that  de-orbiting of the ISS upon its withdrawal from service will take about a year.
