      Press-secretary Dmitri Peskov has underlined that this doesn’t mean that Vladimir Putin doesn’t have faith in other military institutions. “The leader of the National Guard will take orders from the Chief Commander – the president. On top of that, Zolotov has become a part of the Security Order. The president trusts him. The president, the Chief Commander doesn’t appoint people to be military leaders if he has no faith in them” - said Peskov. The idea of the National Guard has been around for a long time. Peskov said that one shouldn’t associate its creation with the upcoming elections. According to him, the new institution will not require an increase of staff in the MIA but will optimize it.
