The interplanetary station ExoMars has sent to the Earth the first pictures taken during its movement towards the planet Mars.
Over a month the spacecraft has overcome the distance of more than 83 million kilometers.
The photos were taken back on April, 8 in order to check up the working condition of the station equipment. The pictures show two sky areas, which are closer to the South Pole. These test photos proved that the camera of ExoMars functions properly.
The ExoMars station is a joint project of Roscosmos and the European Space Agency. The space mission is aimed to detect the proportions of ice and soil on the Mars. In such a way scientists assume to find the evidence of life existence on the planet Mars.
