The average lifespan of Russian citizens has reached its historic maximum. This was stated on Wednesday by the Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev.

“We didn’t only stop the high mortality rate, the decline of population but  increased it. This is obviously a result of the policy ran by the government in the past decade” said Medvedev. According to him, the average lifespan has risen by 4 years. “This is the historic maximum of all the years including the Soviet times. The average lifespan in 2015 made 71.39 years” he underlined. He has also mentioned that a natural increase in population has been recorded in 2015.
