The Russian Advanced Research Foundation has started a competition among developers for engineering its own flying laboratory.
The foundation's Deputy CEO Vitaly Davydov points out that creation of a flying laboratory based on an unmanned aerial vehicle will become one of important steps in development of the robotic air devices sphere. It will assist experts in carrying out tests of navigation systems and technical sight, as well as technologies of automatic piloting and group interaction.
Vitaly Davydov mentioned that the flying laboratory will be based on the UAV of a multirotor type. Such a complicated project will involve the research management department of the RF Defence Ministry and the Skolkovo Foundation.
