Saratov Receives International Cellists Competition

The 3rd International Cellists Competition has started in Saratov.

      The competition is named after the outstanding cellist Svyatoslav Knushevitsky, who is known as the founder of the Soviet cello performing school. Well-known composers, such as Sergey Prokofiev, Aram Khachaturian, and Dmitry Shostakovich dedicated their music pieces to him…

      Participants from 9 countries will compete in the cello performing skill in Saratov. 42 contestants from Russia, Hungary, Belarus, Turkey, China, France, South Korea, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan participate in the main competitive program.

      The competition will be crowned with the concert of winners on stage of the Saratov Philharmonic Hall on April 28.
